Holding Redlich partners Elizabeth Carroll and Wendy Evans have both been recognised in this year’s Elite Women list by Australasian Lawyer.

The annual award celebrates outstanding female leaders in the legal profession across Australia and New Zealand, recognising those who have made significant contributions to the industry, demonstrated a passion for the law, and shown leadership in their roles.

Nominees are assessed based on their professional achievements, initiatives, and overall impact on the community. The Elite Women 2025 list features 70 exceptional women who are shaping the future of the legal industry.

About Partner Elizabeth Carroll

Elizabeth is an award-winning lawyer with more than 25 years of experience in public and administrative law. She joined Holding Redlich in 2021 when the firm established its Canberra office and was appointed to Managing Partner in 2024.

Elizabeth leads with a focus on service and innovation and continuously empowers her team to deliver strategic legal solutions tailored to the needs of Commonwealth clients. Under her leadership, the Canberra office has experienced significant growth with the addition of two new partners and their teams, the firm’s appointment to all five areas of law on the Whole of Australian Government Legal Services Panel, and most recently, a corporate partnership with the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA) ACT.

About Partner Wendy Evans

Wendy brings more than 25 years of experience in the development industry, first as a town planner and later as a planning and environment lawyer. This interdisciplinary background gives her a unique understanding of the sector and has contributed to her ongoing recognition in Doyle’s Guide as a recommended planning and development lawyer in Queensland.

Wendy’s expertise spans planning litigation, statutory and strategic planning, infrastructure planning and agreements, and cultural heritage. Her leadership within the industry is reflected in her role as a Fellow of the Planning Institute of Australia and her current position as its National Vice President.

Known for her solutions-focused approach, integrity, and decisive problem-solving, Wendy is committed to delivering clear, practical outcomes while inspiring those around her.
