Samantha is a partner in the Property, Planning & Development team with over 14 years of experience in the sector.  Samantha is also an Accredited Specialist in property law.  She specialises in a range of property transactions, including complex leasing, land acquisitions and disposals and property due diligence.

Samantha acts for real estate investment trusts, property developers and private clients, focusing on the commercial, retail, healthcare and renewable energy sectors.

Leasing

Samantha's experience includes:

  • acting for Mirvac in respect of the demolition component of its $2 billion redevelopment of Harbourside Shopping Centre, including investigating each occupant's rights in respect of 189 lease folios and over 40 casual shop licences, drafting and serving demolition notices, negotiations with tenants in respect of surrenders of lease and compensation arrangements, drafting deeds of settlement and release and strategically advising Mirvac on practical requirements
  • acting for GPT in relation to its commercial leases across Darling Park's three-tower complex, collectively leasing approximately 30,000 square metres of new space within a 12 month period
  • acting for Centuria in relation to its large format retail and speciality shop leasing portfolios across the eastern seaboard of Australia
  • acting for an international company in respect of its $80 million lease of major commercial premises, including preparing the FIRB application, negotiating an agreement for lease, lease and independent certifier deed.

Capital transactions

Samantha's experience includes:

  • acting for Stockland in respect of its $315 million divestment of Stockland Glendale, being one of the largest retail transactions in NSW to settle in 2024
  • acting for Centuria in respect of its acquisition of various shopping centres, including Cameron Park Plaza and Bathurst Supa Centre
  • advising renewable energy providers on option deeds in relation to the acquisition of land for future development
  • advising health care providers in respect of the acquisition of land for future development
  • advising Precept Property Group on the acquisition of Katoomba Village shopping centre and Bathurst Home Centre
  • advising on the acquisition of various sites in NSW for the purpose of development of school related facilities
  • advising on acquisitions and sales of various sites in NSW for Scentre Group
  • advising on the acquisition of a property portfolio for an ASX-200 property group comprising assets in NSW, Vic and WA
  • advising on the acquisition of an interest in 420 George Street, Sydney for a leading Australian property group
  • advising on the sale of a $250M property portfolio for a global financial institution
  • advising a buyer on the proposed $200M acquisition of shares in Transit Australia Group, including property due diligence, leases and licences in Queensland and NSW acting for Walker Corporation in its $3.2B Parramatta Square development, including reviewing contracts for the sale of land, drafting building management statements, drafting easements and positive covenants, advising on development consent conditions, negotiating with the City of Parramatta Council for outdoor dining licences and sublicences, and drafting submissions to valuers.
